The hill range is endowed with a very attractive natural scenery, which is at its best during the rainy season, when on all sides, it is clothed in green with a number of brooks and torrents, rushing down into the ravine winding about its sides below. The beauty of which is further enhanced by about a dozen lakes and ponds interspersed on its top.

Duchess Fall :

Handi Khoh : Handi Khoh, is the most impressive precipice, which dramatically cuts down over 100 meters deep into the bowels of earth. One can, by making a slight effort, hear the gentle murmur of flowing water and can spot huge undisturbed beehives clinging to the sheer rock face.
Dhupgarh :
One can climb up the clouds dramatically in hues of gold and scarlet. Overhanging monsoon clouds bring about a total transformation of the landscape-shades of gray merging into the blue green of the mountains- all covered by a thin haze of drizzle. Standing alone at Dhupgarh at a time like this is a moving experience. The valleys and ravines exude a spine tingling charm of their owe.
Pandav Caves : The rock-cut Pandav caves are associated with the Pandavas of the epic Mahabharata. Pandavas had a halt here in their wanderings across India
Jatashankar :
An important rock formation is -a place sanctified by the Shaivite lore. The stones are indeed shaped like the mater hair of the great Hindu god Shiva, and inside a natural Cavern there is a stone formation like the hundred-headed divine snake Seshnag.
From the Priyadarshini point one can take a glimpse of the extraordinary beauty of this saucer shaped Panchmarhi and it was at this point this queen of Satpura was discovered in 1857 A.D by Captain Forsyth. On the eastern side of the Mahadev temple is a cave shelter with beautiful cave paintings. Although the majority of paintings are placed between 6th and 9th centuries AD, some get back to 10000 years.

Complementing the magnificence of nature are the works of man; Pachmarhi is also an archeological treasure-house. In cave shelters in the Mahadeo hills is an astonishing richness in rock paintings. Most of these have been placed in the period 500-800 AD, but the earliest paintings are an estimated 10,000 years old.
